The Piano Dad’s Review
Founded in 1946, Casio is an electronics manufacturing company that is known around the world.
They were credited with selling the first fully compact electric calculator in 1957. During the 1980’s they began manufacturing electronic instruments, including keyboards, pianos, and guitars.
To this day, you’ll have a hard time walking through a store that sells electronics without seeing a Casio keyboard. Many people are surprised to learn that they manufacture keyboard benches as well.

Introducing The Casio Arbench X-style
The X-style Arbench from Casio combines simplicity with comfort to create a great entry-level keyboard bench.
The great thing about a keyboard bench is that it doesn’t need a lot of bells and whistles to do its job. It’s not like a piano bench where you need a wide seat and a sturdy wooden frame.
The Arbench is simply a padded cushion on top of a metal frame that is shaped like an X.
X-Style Frame Makes Adjustments Easy
The X-style frame is important because it is what provides the bench with its adjustable quality.
There are three holes in the metal frame with a bolt that connects two aligned holes. You can remove the bolt and choose which of the holes to align, which in turn either raises or lowers the seat’s height.
The instructions for adjusting the height did not appear to be included with the bench so it may take a little bit of experimenting to get it just right.
X-Style Frame is also Easy to Fold
A second advantage of the X-style frame is that it can easily be folded and tucked away. The bench is very light and nearly flat when folded. It can easily be stored in a closet or slipped beneath the bed.
The bench is listed as having a weight capacity of 250 pounds. However, there have been complaints from customers claiming that the bench broke at lower weights.
With that in mind, this keyboard bench may be a better investment for a child or smaller adult rather than a large adult.

Final Thoughts
The Casio Arbench makes a great bench for a kid or teenager who is learning to play the keyboard. It is not very durable, but the price is so low that you won’t feel robbed if it does eventually break. The small size and lightweight design also make it a great choice for people with limited space.
